The Music Festival of Pite River Valley

The Festival in the Pite River Valley has for twenty years provided its audience with a wide range of musical styles performed by top artists from home and abroad. This summer 2010 we celebrate the anniversary of the birth of the composer Robert Schumann with four concerts and the girl’s choir Arctic Light, winner of the title Choir of the year will be making a guest appearance. During the festival Piteå’s music college and Framnäs college will be arranging music courses for about 120 talented youngsters. The course participants and their teachers will be giving several concerts during the week and then going on for a week’s tour of Norrbotten. Welcome!

Travel by air to Luleå or by train to Älvsbyn. Alternatively the motorway E4 goes through Piteå. There are plenty of different types of accommodation, ranging from youth hostels to luxury suites with a view of the sea. The Tourist Office in Piteå can provide more information:
